REGISTER NOW for the Kansas Occupational Therapy Association's Annual Conference, September 6 - September 7, 2024!
The KOTA Annual Conference registration brochure is here. Registrations must be completed online or postmarked by August 29, 2024.
Welcome to the 2024 KOTA annual conference. First and foremost you will notice the biggest change is the location of this year’s conference. In a strategy to reduce overall cost we chose to hold the conference at a different venue–The K-State Alumni Center. By reducing the overall cost of the venue we have been able to contract with local food establishments to bring back 2 full lunches and 1 full breakfast in the cost of your registration.
After receiving valuable feedback from our attendees last year we have made a change and discontinued the on-line CEUs during the week of conference. Instead we will offer 5 hours of recorded sessions that will be available with registration for the entire month of September. This will allow increased flexibility with registrants to take the classes. We also will have a late start on Friday to allow attendees to potentially drive in the morning of the conference. We have also extended the hours available on Saturday to provide opportunities for attendees to maximize CEUs if unable to attend the entire conference.
You will note we have brought back a past favorite that was missing last year–The KOTA Swag Bag. We have filled them with some goodies but more importantly KOTA contributed to the Lands Banks Memorial Scholarship by purchasing the bags through The American Occupational Therapy Foundation. Several KOTA board members proudly served with Lands at the 2023 AOTA Conference in Kansas City.
This year's theme is "Empowering Hands” as the change of venue has allowed us more space and opportunity to include hands-on sessions.
Be sure to follow us on social media as we will update you in the weeks leading up to the conference with sneak peeks of speakers and provide more information regarding conference week.
I want to thank this year's conference committee members: Marnie Selstedt, Lynette Hofer, John Simard II, Jamie Cook, Katie Tipton and Stacey Childers-Teeple.
Please say a BIG THANK YOU to all of the 2024 KOTA Board Members who proudly provided snacks throughout the conference. Snack stations will be set up in each break out room.
Final details for the 2025 Conference are being confirmed and will be announced at this year's conference.
I look forward to meeting everyone this year! Don't hesitate to contact me at amyadamsonot@gmail.com with any questions, concerns, or suggestions.
